A legacy of love: The Apple Patch story
Our journey at Apple Patch Pet Care began with a profound love for dogs and a desire to honour a remarkable woman, Marcia Rogers.
Marcia, mother of our founder Simon, lived a life devoted to her canine companions, from her childhood Poodle to the mixed breed house dogs and to her beloved agility Cocker Spaniels. There was always a dog a nearly ever point in Marcia's life.
'Apple Patch' was her Kennel Club kennel name, inspired by her original 'Apple Patch mother,' Daphne, who famously buried toys and the odd shoe under three apple trees in the family garden. Marcia love spending time with her dogs whether it be a long walk on the beach or taking part in an agility competition, which she and the Apple Patch hounds thoroughly enjoyed doing and had plenty of success whilst doing it.
The original apple patch crew consisted of Pippa May, the rebel princess, who was a Collie Staffie cross, Daphne, Working Cocker Spaniel , Harry, son to Daphne through her first litter and Pixie, daughter to Daphne from her second litter.
All of which had great success with Marcia in the agility ring.
Unfortunately Marcia sadly passed in September 2020, at just 63year old, after a battle with Bowel Cancer, her spirit and commitment lives on, in the Apple Patch Pet Care name.
Pippa May crossed the Rainbow bridge in 2019 and sadly Harry, join Marcia and Pippa May, over the rainbow bridge in January 2026.
Marcia's passion, our inspiration
Marcia's weekends were filled with the joy of dog agility, competing with her 'Apple Patch troop' including Pippa May, Daphne, Harry, and Pixie. She even made it to an Olympia qualifier one year with Pippa May, a testament to her dedication and their bond. In 2025, Simon, her eldest son, established Apple Patch Pet Care as a tribute. He envisioned supplements that would support dogs with active lives – whether they’re excelling in agility, working tirelessly, or simply enjoying long walks on the beach – ensuring they have the vitality to live life to the fullest, just as Marcia would have wanted.
